Subaqueous is part of a series featuring a colony of “Ant People” living inside of a shell. This painting came about from a pen drawing, Happy Place, that was meant to be an exploration of the subconscious. The Ant People who live inside of a shell seem to defy most of the rules of being under water. They have a strong sense of curiosity and playfulness in regards to their surroundings.
