For all my academic life, I was one of only a handful of Black students in the schools I attended. Black history lessons were sparse, but when they were taught, I felt different - and sometimes, out of place.

Thinking back, at the height of the pandemic, all I could do was survive. Laying in bed for hours and days on end I thought, what’s life worth if I’m not able to spend it pursuing my passion and purpose?

One of the hardest struggles I have as an “emerging artist” is imposter syndrome and social media doesn’t really help with that. In fact, it makes it worse.

The theme was gender, and I had a lot to say about myself as a child. Thankfully my family gave me the space to explore my sense of fashion freely but I often felt plagued by the gender norms imposed on me by my parents. This challenge forced me to dig deep
